Epiphone SC-450 Scroll Electric in Las Vegas for $420

This seller is offering an Epiphone SC-450 Scroll guitar for $420.  These were made in Japan in the late 1970's and they are pretty darn nice and definitely hard to find for sale unless you are very patient.

These Epi Scroll guitars have always been of interest to me ever since I saw a video of Rory Gallagher playing one live.*  I could tell you a little bit about them but there is a video on Youtube of a gal who talks about every aspect of these guitars for 10 minutes so she can do a much better job than me.  Here is a link to that video:  EPIPHONE SCROLL VIDEO

An interesting fact is that you could buy these with factory installed Gibson pickups for an additional cost. Those models are listed as the SC-450G and they have what appear to be Gibson USA T-tops pickups.

*Note:  After going back and looking at the video of Bullfrog Blues live on Youtube (RORY GALLAGHER BULLFROG BLUES) it turns out that may not be an Epiphone Scroll afterall.  I actually cant Identify the guitar Rory is playing in that video - but it is not his usual Strat. if anyone can identify it I will appreciate it very much.  - JC

I have a beautiful vintage Epiphone, from when Epiphone was making their own stuff, not just Gibson knockoffs. I've had this guitar for a long time and it plays great! Just restrung it and I hate to let it go. But I'm moving and don't have room for all the guitars. These normally go for 550-600 plus shipping on E-bay.

- 1966 Epiphone Ft45 Cortez Acoustic In Kansas City For $500
This seller is offering a vintage USA Epiphone acoustic for $500.  These USA FT45 Cortez models fly under the radar because they can easily be confused with the Epiphone acoustic models that were made in Japan from 1967 onward - those MIJ models...

- Rory Gallagher - The Original Celtic Lion
Another fave of mine who has all but disappeared from the mainstream is Rory Gallagher. Rory was a talented performer who played a dozen different instruments but he was first and foremost a guitar player. Though most well-known as a rocking electric...

- Epiphone Et-290 Crestwood In Corvallis For $350
These japanese made Crestwoods are nice solid guitars and this Cherry Burst is the prettiest of the finishes. I played one exactly like this at the Guitar Center Vintage Room in Hollywood a few years back and they were asking $550 for it at the time....

- Univox 1974 Les Paul Copy In St. Goerge Utah For $250
I saw this guitar for sale about 6 months ago in the same area so I guesss it never sold.  The seller says this is a "Mother" but the Univox Mother is a bolt-on neck guitar with trapezoid inlays and this one looks likea set neck with dots on the...

- Electra Zephyr In Nashua Vt W/ Gibson Case For $300
Don't confuse theseZephyr's with a Les Paul - with it's German Carve, contoured body and maple bolt on neck and phase reverse coil split humbucker pickups (with 5 position rotary switch) these are probably closer in spirit and sound...
