1960s/70s Japanese "Idol" guitar

guitarz.blogspot.com:
In these days of hysteria-laden karaoke-style TV talent contests, "Idol" is a bit of a dirty word. However, here is one Idol that shouldn't have been strangled at birth. It's a Japanese-made electric guitar with an exaggerated wide body shape, and whilst I'm not suggesting for one moment that it's a surefire great player, I think we have to admire it for its coolness factor. It'd look great in a video if nothing else!

Currently being auctioned on eBay with a negligibly low starting price. I wonder what it'll fetch?
[Edit: it eventually sold for US $115].

- Silvertone 14409 Vintage Japanese Mosrite-inspired Surftastic Guitar
guitarz.blogspot.com: This 1960s Japanese "Silvertone model 14409" guitar (made by Kawai possibly?) has some very strong Mosrite stylistic influences, although that proto-Ibanez-style headstock does look a little at odds with the body design. Despite...

- Greco Br600 Brawler 1970s Vintage Japanese-made Electric Guitar
guitarz.blogspot.com: Here's a Greco BR600 Brawler, a late 1970s Japanese-made guitar that I am totally unfamiliar with. Made by FujuGen Gakki, it's quite possible this model was intended for the Japanese home market only. Unlike many other Japanese...

- Gretsch Broadcaster 1970s Solidbody Oddity
guitarz.blogspot.com: This Gretsch Broadcaster circa 1975-76 wouldn't win any beauty contests. It's as if they wanted to make a Fender-like solidbody but didn't spend too much time actually designing the guitar, so it's a big slab-bodied...

- Weird Vintage Bulgarian Acoustic Guitar With Secondary Soundhole
guitarz.blogspot.com: With an exaggerated body shape incorporating a secondary soundhole, this Bulgarian-made acoustic guitar looks as if it should have been a harp guitar, however it only seems to have the usual single set of six strings. Unfortunately...

- Bassix Upright Travel Bass Is Its Own Case!
guitarz.blogspot.com: Please excuse me showing another double bass, but I couldn resist showing this bass (with what looks like a sawn-off body) just for the sheer inventiveness factor. The neck, strings, bridge and tailpiece are detachable whilst the...
