Gretsch Broadcaster 1970s solidbody oddity

guitarz.blogspot.com:
This Gretsch Broadcaster circa 1975-76 wouldn't win any beauty contests. It's as if they wanted to make a Fender-like solidbody but didn't spend too much time actually designing the guitar, so it's a big slab-bodied affair. Despite that, I'm sure it's a perfectly competent player; the seller claims that "you can obtain tones from twangy country to AC/DC".

Currently listed on eBay with a possibly overly optimistic starting price of US $1,175.

- 1960s Kay Speed Demon Hollowbody Electric Guitar
guitarz.blogspot.com: This 1960s Kay Speed Demon is certainly quite a looker and is in fantastic condition for a guitar of its vintage. I get the feeling this was produced as a "poor man's Gretsch"; I don't mean that to its detriment, it is what...

- Vintage German-made Pearloid-finished Migma Solidbody Electric Guitar
guitarz.blogspot.com: Most regular readers probably already know how much we like vintage German guitars here on Guitarz. This Migma solidbody was made in the former East Germany; the seller claims it is from the 1950s, but I think 1960s is far more likely,...

- Japanese-made, Possibly Prototype, Tokai Tsunami Looks Strangely Familiar
guitarz.blogspot.com: Damn, that's a good looking guitar. And as a Japanese-made Tokai, it ought to be beautifully crafted and a fine player to boot! It's a Tokai Tsunami and while it isn't a copy of any previously known guitar, I think everyone...

- Eko 8 And 12-string Solidbody Electric Mandos From Italy
guitarz.blogspot.com: Currently being auctioned on eBay UK are an Eko solidbody 8-string mandolin and an Eko solidbody 12-string mandolin. The latter is essentially an octave 12-string guitar (I used to have one myself), almost certainly influenced by...

- 1960s Teisco Electric Banjitar Which Allegedly Sounds Better Than A Strat
guitarz.blogspot.com: Here's an oddity from 1960s Japan that I find curiously appealing for some reason that I cannot fathom. It's a Teisco electric banjitar. That's right, a solidbody electric 6-string banjo. With a whammy bar! Actually,...
