Something different - but related - Jimmy Page rules the Universe on his vintage Danelectro.

First off, I'd like to thank all the readers who've posted such nice supportive comments here in my blog. I really appreciate the nice words and it keeps me motivated to dig deeper and do a better job.

To that end, I will be expanding this Blog to make it part of a regular guitar WEBSITE called VINTAGE GUITAR HUNT. That site is not up yet but hopefully I will have it going in a month or two. I am looking for a good web designer to help me build it so that it includes a "VIntage Guitar Search Engine" feature and a "Members Forum" section for reviews and to share information with each other. I am doing this in response to the fact that HARMONY CENTRAL has really taken a dive in the past few years and I don't think many of us can use that as a good resource anymore. It's really a shame because that was a great site for many years but it's totally changed into a very commercial website with less user input so maybe we can build something decent for Vintage Guitar Players and Collectors to share and use together.

Wish me luck - and any input, comments, suggestions etc are appreciated.

- Jim Christopher

OKAY - as a special treat here are two great videos of JIMMY PAGE playing his vintage Danelectro DC-2. I can't make up my mind what's cooler - that Jimmy gets such a mind altering great tone out of this little Masonite Guitar - or the way he just picks up the same guitar with the same DADGAD tuning 30 years later and sounds just as good as the day he recorded it.

It doesn't get much more inspiring than this...

Here is LED ZEP playing KASHMIR live in the Mid 1970's

And here is Jimmy teaching the song to Jack White and The Edge. This movie, IT MIGHT GET LOUD is such a delight for lovers of the Electric Guitar and the real treat is seeing how much Jimmy Page loves to play - it is an absolute delight every moment he touches the instrument.

- 1956 Kay Thin Twin (jimmy Reed) In Boston For $400
Probably the most collectible of all Kay built electric guitars, the Thin Twin is known as the Jimmy Reed model because he played one. This version does not have the tortoise stripe pickguard more common to the Silvertone version but it still looks good...

- Original 1950's Silvertone Thin Twin Jimmy Reed Guitar In Chicago For $650
These guitars are legendary because of Blues great Jimmy Reed. However, you have to play one and decide for yourself wether they are worth all the hype and frenzy. To me they are more of a collector guitar but that is just me. I like an axe with more...

- Fender '59 Bassman Ltd In Tempe Az For $685
The LTD is the special hand-wired Custom Shop version of the '59 Bassman Reissue and it came with Jensen P10R alnico speakers instead of the usual Fender Blue Alnico's (which are made by Eminence). Also the Tweed cabinet is hand lacquered for...

- 50's Supro And Harmony Amps And Guitars In Chico Ca
Some of this guys prices are a little steep but you know how it is - maybe he'll budge or maybe he's got something you really really must have - he's certaiinly got some cool vintage gear for sale. Vintage and New gear - $200 (Chico) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

- 1958 Danelectro U-1 Jimmy Page Guitar - $500 In Delaware
I think $500 is a pretty good price for one of these - the most desirable of the old Dano's because Jimmy Page plays one live on stage in The Song Remains the Samemovie. Orginal 1958 Danelctro - $500 (Chichester) Reply to: mailto:[email protected]?subject=Orginal%201958%20Danelctro%20-%20%24500%20(Chichester)...
