Kawai "Crystal Moon" acrylic-bodied Moonsault guitar
guitarz.blogspot.com:
The
Kawai Moonsault (we've looked at examples previously
here and
here) is one of my favourite guitar designs, partly because it just looks so impractical but also because it demonstrates beautifully the wackiness of the Japanese when it comes to guitars.
These guitars were created for the Japanese home market and are rarely seen in the West as it is, but here we have the extremely rare
Crystal Moon version which features a clear acrylic body. Unlike the top of the range Moonsaults, which can be likened to Gibson's Les Paul in terms of construction and quality of build, the Crystal Moon utilises a bolt-on neck. It also lacks the body binding of its siblings, but does have the same "Phase of the Moon" fretboard inlays.
This particular example is currently located in Germany and has an eBay starting price of £1,999.

Greco Br600 Brawler 1970s Vintage Japanese-made Electric Guitar
guitarz.blogspot.com: Here's a Greco BR600 Brawler, a late 1970s Japanese-made guitar that I am totally unfamiliar with. Made by FujuGen Gakki, it's quite possible this model was intended for the Japanese home market only. Unlike many other Japanese...

Rp Custom Guitars Roach-o-caster Acrylic-bodied Guitar Complete With Entombed Cockroach
guitarz.blogspot.com: I think the photos of this acrylic-bodied "Roach-o-caster" electric guitar from RP Custom Guitars of Los Angeles say it all. We've looked at a number of see-thru acrylic-bodied guitars before, but the big difference with the...

Matsumoku-made Aria Pro Ii Titan Artist Series Ta-30 Semi
guitarz.blogspot.com: ...speaking of Japanese guitars, here is one that is much more affordable than the guitar in the previous post, in fact I would recommend this as my eBay Buy of the Month because I have been using one of these very same guitars...

1968 Kawai Roundback Acoustic - Japanese Ovation Glen Campbell Copy
guitarz.blogspot.com: I'm going to be lazy and lift the details about this Kawai guitar straight from the seller's description on eBay. When it's already been said so well, why re-write it? The downright weirdness of this guitar may be lost...
