Gretsch 1940's Synchromatic Archtop Acoustic inNJ for $500

Gretsch is not too well known for it's acoustic guitars so these pre-war models are relatively rare. I didn't even know Fred Gretsch was making guitars in the 1940's - so I've still got a lot to learn. I've never seen this particular model before but a little research tells me this could be a 1942 or so Model 100 - that means the one in the photo is missing the original tailpiece. Either way this is a rare guitar.

Up for sale is a gretsch guitar from the 1940's . It has the original case which I was told is worth money also. The overall condition is really good.I know the pictures arn't the greatest because they were done with a cell phone. But i can promise that this looks in perfect condition for it age with lots of shine. I also have an vintage Ace strap from the 50's/60's almost brand new condition that i seen selling on ebay with bids for over 80 dollars. This also comes with the original pick guard and some others things Asking $500. 856-506-8116 email [email protected]

- Vinage & Rare Guitar Of The Week: 1956 Gretsch Chet Atkins Model 6129
guitarz.blogspot.com: Whoops! It seems I've not featured any Vintage & Rare guitars recently - this is not a deliberate oversight, rather it's just a case of me having been very busy and often not posting on the blog until last thing at night...

- Gretsch 6003 "jimmie Rogers Folk Singer" Acoustic Guitar In Leonardtown Md For $425
This seller is offering a Gretsch 6003 acoustic which is sometimes referred to as the Jimmie Rogers Folk Singer Model.  These were not expensive guitars - they sold for about $100 back in the 1960's - but they are USA built by Gretsch in Brooklyn...

- Gretsch New Yorker In Kansas City Ks For $300
Sounds like condition may be an issue with this instrument ("Rough" can mean a lot of things) but you may still want to check this one out. Gretsch New Yorkers are nice Vintage archtops - on par with Gibson to a certain degree. They usually command a...

- 1979 Gretsch Committee In Austin For $650
Not sure what they are going for these days but these Committees were some of the last of the Gretsch USA guitars before that company changed hands - and changed hands again. This "Neck Thru layered Walnut body style" was all the rage for about 10 minutes...

- 1964 Gretsch Clipper In Chatanooga For $500
You read correct - $500 for a 1964 USA made Gretsch. Of course this is not a White Penguin - but it does have a Bigsby on it. Gretsch's low end guitar in 1964 still makes a nice player and collector. Just listed today - better call that number...
