Electra guitar from Japan with MMK 45 pickups
guitarz.blogspot.com:
Other than this is an
Electra guitar, supposedly Matsumoku-made, I know very little about this beastie. The seller of this particular example on eBay (Buy It Now price is $265) is keen to point out that the MMK 45 pickups sell for $125 each on eBay. These, it seems are desirable pickups, but I confess I am not a pickup nerd; I know what I like and what I don't like (let's not go
there again) but I don't really know a great deal about pickups. An online forum tells me that MMK 45s have 11.8K coils with ceramic magnets, but please don't ask me to dissect that information!
Anyway, it's a fine looking guitar from 1980s Japan, and for a guitar which is basically derived from the Les Paul (two pickups each with a volume and tone control, three-way selector switch, tune-o-matic style bridge and separate tailpiece) I much prefer this layout with the pickup selector adjacent to the other controls, i.e. somewhere I wouldn't be hitting it by accident.

Italian-made Modern Crucianelli Semi-hollowbody Guitar Is Switch-tastic
guitarz.blogspot.com: When I say "Modern" I don't mean that this guitar is an uptodate contemporary instrument, but rather it is actually a vintage 1960s Italian-made guitar badged with the "Modern" brandname. Of course, Italian guitars of this era...

Guyatone Lg-60b - 1960s Japanese Singlecut Set-neck Guitar
guitarz.blogspot.com: You'll have to forgive me, I seem to be on some vintage Japanese guitar kick lately. This gorgeous Guyatone LG-60B would seem to be a Japanese amalgam of various Airline and Supro guitars. In my eyes it is just as desirable....

Westone Spectrum Mx From 1985 In Red Cellophane Finish
guitarz.blogspot.com: Here's another "Spectrum"-named guitar from Japan, this one bringing proof that Haryama weren't the only Japanese guitar makers in the 1980s producing cellophane finishes. This Westone Spectrum MX is a Matsumoku-made guitar...

1977 Electra X-230 Japan Les Paul In Buffalo For $350
This seller is offering an Electra X-230 which appears to be all original. Yes, the Electra came stock with one open coil zebra pickup and one chrome humbucker just like the pic. The X-230, sometimes referred to as Omega X-230 (?) is a copy...
