1985 Gibson SG400X - the SG that wanted to be a Superstrat
guitarz.blogspot.com:
You just know that this Custom Shop
Gibson SG400X has to be a 1980s guitar when Gibson start messing with the tried and tested formula and produce a guitar that appears to be the offspring of an unholy alliance between an SG and a Superstrat. Check out the locking trem (I think it's a Kahler), the SSH pickup configuration and the droopy headstock that was
de rigeur in the later 1980s (thankfully it's Gibson's own Explorer-style design and not a nasty pointy effort
a la Jackson and Charvel).

Have You Ever Seen A More Out-of-place Headstock On A Guitar?
guitarz.blogspot.com: I take one look at this 1980s B.C. Rich acoustic guitar and can't help but demand "What were they thinking?" A pointy headstock? On a dreadnaught? Madness! I'm not averse to 6-in-a-line headstocks on acoustic guitars. Fender,...

Gibson Explorer Shadow Bass From 1986 - But Where Are The Pickups?
guitarz.blogspot.com: Graphics like these appeared on a number of mid-1980s Gibson Explorer guitars and basses, but more unusually this 1986 Gibson Explorer Shadow Bass appears to have no pickups. Of course, it does have pickups but not of the magnetic...
