1960s vintage Japanese Apollo four-pickup solidbody electric

guitarz.blogspot.com:
Love 'em or loathe 'em, here's another 1960s Japanese wonder. This guitar carries the Apollo brandname and is festooned with four pickups, a whole bunch of volume and tone controls, pickup selectors, etc. The very cheap looking vibrato unit is, remarkably, still intact, whilst the multiple pickguards/control plates put me in mind of Burns guitars. As to what it sounds like or how playable it actually is, unfortunately I am unable to comment.

Currently listed on eBay with an astonishingly optimistic Buy It Now price of US$1,950.

- Japanese-made Apollo Violin Bass With Scroll Headstock
guitarz.blogspot.com: When it comes to violin-styled basses (and guitars come to that matter) I am usually quite ambivalent in my enthusiasm for them, but I think that this Apollo violin bass is just glorious. Something about the shape and the execution...

- Silvertone 14409 Vintage Japanese Mosrite-inspired Surftastic Guitar
guitarz.blogspot.com: This 1960s Japanese "Silvertone model 14409" guitar (made by Kawai possibly?) has some very strong Mosrite stylistic influences, although that proto-Ibanez-style headstock does look a little at odds with the body design. Despite...

- 1960s Italian-made Meazzi Hollywood Supersonic With Built-in Amp
guitarz.blogspot.com: I don't have much to say about this 1960s Italian Meazzi Hollywood Supersonic other than it is refreshing to see a guitar with built-in amp and speaker that doesn't look like a cheap and nasty effort thrown together to amuse...

- Prestige 19½" Scale Electric / Child's Guitar
guitarz.blogspot.com: Prestige are one of those interchangeable brand names that we see on Japanese-made electric guitars from the 1960s and 70s. This one is a bit more unusual than most in that it is a diminutive shortscale guitar with a scale length...

- Japanese-made Silvertone With A Serious Mosrite Vibe Going On And Sliders!
guitarz.blogspot.com: I couldn't possibly comment on how this vintage Silvertone guitar might sound, but it's certainly a head turner with several Mosrite-inspired design elements (reverse offset body with German carve, angled neck pickup and...
